The 22nd European Signal Processing Conference (EUSIPCO 2014), organized by EURASIP, took place in Lisbon, Portugal on 1st – 5th September. EUSIPCO is one of the largest international conferences in the field of signal processing theory, algorithms, and applications. The conference was held at the Lisbon Congress Center and it was hosted by „Instituto de Telecomunicações“. This year, it introduced the latest developments in research and technology. Traditionally, it was focused on the newest topics and contributions in audio, speech and acoustic signal processing and recognition, design and implementation of signal processing and
detections systems, image and video processing and coding, machine learning, sensor array and multichannel signal processing. The topics were further related to signal processing for location, positioning, navigation, communications, wireless and optical networking, nonlinear signal processing and many others. Our department was represented on EUSIPCO by one active participant Ing. Peter Viszlay, PhD. He presented his paper named as “Class-dependent two-dimensional linear discriminant analysis using two-pass recognition strategy” in section “Speech processing”. Several world-class keynote and plenary speakers, companies and presenters participated on the conference in different sessions, special sessions, talks, tutorials from about 40 countries all over the world. The conference papers are published in EUSIPCO 2014 proceedings and they will be included in IEEE Explore Digital Library.
