In August 25-28th 2014 prof. Juhár and Ing. Pleva participate in AAL (Ambient Assisted Living) workshop where the invited paper “Speech technologies in modern HCI applications” was presented to Second Joint CBU-BCBU Summer School in Kuopio. The lecture was successful and met with great response from professors of the Nara Institute of Science and Technology (Goshiro Yamamoto), Kyoto University Hospital (Tomohiro Kuroda) and Northern State Medical University (Andrei G. Soloviev). Furthermore they attended the demonstration of the Athene Exergaming (Jona Kalermo) technology , which is used for the motivation of rehabilitation patients in Augmented Reality gaming technology (Arto Karjalainen) and presented the results of the research laboratory of speech technologies (LSMT) in HCI and speech technologies session – AAL workshop. There was discussion of possible exchange within the Erasmus+ project.
In Wednesday, August 27th they participated in the AAL and Robotic Technologies session at the University of Oulu, excursions to GameLab in Oulu (Jussi Autio) – business kitchen for students with annual courses, resulting in a real company for gaming industry composed of successful graduates of the course. There was also an excursion to Metsola Kartano Senior citizen Home, which is used for testing Ambient Assistant Living (AAL) technologies developed in the laboratories of the University of Oulu (Anna Salomaa, E. Leinonen). Finally, on AAL and Robotic Technologies session at the University of Oulu the results of laboratory LSMT were presented and there was a successful debate on possible cooperation in the H2020 project consortium for the call PHC-22-2015 .
